Chaplain Charles Mitchell: Abiding with the Father
Charles Mitchell is a chaplain at Union Gospel Mission of Dallas who diligently serves homeless men from ages 18 to 80 years old. He counsels, teaches, and recruits men to join the discipleship program to restart their lives.
Charles’ desire is to show men how to rebuild their lives after finding himself homeless at one stage of his life. He knows what it is like to feel helpless and rejected. When he decided to allow Jesus to take control of his heart, his life started to take form, and opportunities began to open for him.
Here are a few highlights of Charles’ achievements: earned a B.S. degree in telecommunication from Texas Tech, graduated from the discipleship program at UGM, and graduated from TUMI Institute World Impact Ministries in Dallas with a degree in Biblical Studies.
After completing the program at Union Gospel Mission of Dallas, he found love again, got married, and enjoys time with his stepson. Charles is thankful for God’s redemptive power in turning his life around as he learned to put his trust in Jesus Christ.
Lastly, Charles has been a faithful servant at Union Gospel Mission and has been employed there for 10 years.
